Richard Jolley

Richard Jolley was born in Kansas in 1952, earned his BFA from George Peabody College at Vanderbilt University in Nashville in 1974 and did graduate studies at Penland the same year. He currently lives and works in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he has maintained a studio since 1975. His work is included in the collections of museums in the U.S. and abroad, including the Museum of Art and Design, NY; Corning Museum, NY; Ogden Museum of Southern Art, New Orleans, LA; Los Angeles County Museum of Modern Art, CA; Renwick Gallery of the National Museum of American Art, D.C.; International Glasmuseum, Denmark; Kunstmuseum, Germany. He has had numerous solo exhibitions over the past 25 years, including his most recent exhibition “Richard Jolley: Sculptor of Glass” which opened at the Knoxville Museum of Art in 2002 and will travel through 2007. In 2003, Skira published a monograph written by noted art historian Sam Hunter titled “Richard Jolley: Transformations”.
