ARTIST STATEMENT
In this work I translate my experience, my life encounters as they evolve, into a visual poetry.
Belief and re-imagining, loss and tenacity, grief and grace are the subjects that compel my paintings. Through a language of undulating, nuanced surfaces and layer upon layer of color, my personal response to life’s mystery takes form. Abstract references to water, sky, earth and air rise to the surface as visual metaphors for the often ineffable experiences of the human heart.
Within that created space, moments of silence can be found for reflection and for holding what needs to be held.
