Teodora Pica
Growing up in a family of artists who specialized in mural art, as practiced by both her father and her paternal grandfather, Teodora Pica began to learn this complex art form at a very young age. It requires a specific and thorough knowledge of the qualities and the preparation of pigments and their minute application in successive coats.
The fruit of her learning is reflected in her impeccable attention to space and form. Her majestic landscapes are situated somewhere between the confines of myth and dream; they are both mysterious and enigmatic. There is a strong attraction that makes one want to penetrate into this world in flux. Maybe this is the personal, yet modern, design of the artist to communicate with a transcendent world that springs from an imagination that does not hesitate to raise questions.
Teodora Pica holds a degree in Architecture from the University of Toronto and a Degree in Painting and Drawing from the Ontario College of Art & Design in Toronto. Her works have been displayed at Art Expo, New York, at the Espace Montourial de Moissac, in France, as well as at the Albert Stuart Fine Art Gallery in Hollywood.
